12 best cafes Barcelona

Barcelona has some of the most amazing cafes in the world and not only that, there a tons of them located in the city. Here’s a breakdown of my favourite cafes in Barcelona so can have the tastiest coffee on you your next visit to the city!

La Papa

I discovered La Papa recently when I spent a month in Barcelona and everything about this cafe is perfect! The food, the aesthetics of the cafe, the staff and the overall environment is amazing. They have a variety of healthy pastries ready to order as well a a menu loaded with amazing options. From the best avocado toast I’ve ever had, to truffle mushroom toast on amazing sourdough bread, to the best stacked pancakes - you can’t go wrong with any of the menu options they have to offer.

They also have incredible coffee and matcha lattes!

I visited La Papa probably 4 times a week during my stay!

Citizen Cafe

Citizen Cafe was my favourite place to get an amazing cup of coffee on the go. It became my go to place on my morning walks on the way to the beach - I was going so often that the staff started to remember me and remember my order haha!

Origo Bakery

If you’re looking for amazing pastries, especially cinnamon buns or cinnamon twists as they call it at here, you’re in for a treat at Origo bakery.

During my month in Stay in Barcelona I told myself I’d try one new cafe a day, so when I found Origo Bakery through Instagram, I added it to the list and wow was I pleasantly surprised. It’s a little charming bakery located in Vila de Gràcia with delicious coffee and amazing sweets.

This cafe ended up being on of my favourite cafes in Barcelona. I even brought two extra cinnamon twists with me on my flight home!

Bohl Cafe

I stumbled upon Bohl Cafe one day when I was making my way to the Arc de Triomf and Parc de la Ciutadella. With a modern interior, delicious drinks and warm staff I was happy to add this cafe to my list!

Syra Coffee

Syra coffee has been a go to cafe of mine since one of the first times I visited Barcelona. With multiple locations around Barcelona, this tiny cafe is a perfect place to grab a coffee or tea of your choice on the go!

Orval Barcelona

Orval Barcelona is one of those cafes I found via Instagram because of its cool interior, but this cafe was more than that. Full of plants and high windows, Orval Barcelona is a great working space or to simply sit down and enjoy a coffee and a pastry.

Tip: They sell Origo Bakery’s cinnamon and cardamom twists! Another big reason to visit!

Onna Coffee

Onna Coffee is another cafe that became a regular of mine as it was conveniently located and had the warmest staff. Be sure to try an oat milk latte that’s made with Oatly - my favourite!

Nomad Coffee

If you’re looking for modern aesthetics mixed with great coffee, add Nomad Coffee to your list. This cool place also has multiple locations around Barcelona and offers a great experience for a coffee lover!

Satan’s Coffee Corner

With two located in Barcelona, Satan’s Coffee Corner is a perfect place to grab a beverages in an artsy setting.

Hidden Café Bcn

Hidden Cafe is a great place to bring your computer and catch up on some work. When I walked in there were loads digital nomads sipping on coffee and tea!

Not only is the cafe nicely decorated, but they stand behind having a sustainable company with 100% traceability on where the coffee beans are coming from and how they are grown.

Federal Cafe

Federal Cafe is an Aussie inspired cafe - need I say more?

Delicious avocado toast, smooth coffee and beachy vibes, Federal Cafe is a great place to have brunch, sit down and have a coffee or even a good co-working space.

Slow Mov

Slow Mov is a tiny little coffee shop with specialty coffee to-go!
